About Seth Johnson
Hailed as “a producer’s dream hire”, Seth Johnson is a tenor known for his easy navigation of complex works, quick consumption of new repertoire, and passion for performance. Originally from small-town Illinois, Seth moved to Ohio shortly after the completion of his bachelor's degree at Bradley University, where he began working with many local arts organizations such as Toledo Opera, Detroit Opera, Ohio Light Opera, Great Lakes Light Opera, South Bend Lyric Opera, Toledo Symphony Orchestra, Dearborn Symphony, and (most recently) Bellissima Opera/Working in Concert. Johnson works with many of these companies regularly, being cast in roles of various sizes including: Vanderdendur in Candide, Nemorino in L’elisir d’amore, L’amante in Amelia al ballo, Archibald Grosvenor in Patience, Gabriel von Eisenstein in Die Fledermaus, Camille in The Merry Widow, Spoletta in Tosca, tenor soloist in Carmina Burana, and Odysseus in the world premiere of Our American Odyssey at South Bend Lyric Opera.
In 2021, Seth completed his Master’s in Vocal Performance at the University of Toledo. Now, Mr. Johnson can be found teaching any of an array of classes at Owens Community College in Perrysburg, OH including voice lessons, piano lessons, class voice, class piano, professions of music, music business, and the Owens Voices chorus. Johnson also manages his own private voice and piano studio.
